As a company, Charter Controls are committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible.
A few years ago we made some big changes in our office to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Our first change was to go as paperless as possible with new software being implemented and personnel being moved around the office so communication was easier. This was a great success.
We then began a process of replacing all old light bulbs for LED’s which use much less power.
Now the two company owners and their son have all traded in their old polluting cars for electric vehicles, however the town they live in isn’t helping.
Hasting Borough Council seem to be dragging their feet where EV charging facilities are concerned. We have all seen supermarkets and shopping centres installing charging bays in the car parks over the last few years but not here. We have 2 charging pods to cover the entire town which isn’t very helpful for the existing EV drivers let alone future sales. So how does this fit in with Hastings Borough Council and their environmental improvement policies? It probably doesn’t.
Murray Greenhill has recently taken on a mission along with Conservative Cllr for Conquest Ward Liam Atkins, who is a very supportive old school friend. They want to improve the EV charging facilities in Hastings. We wish them the best of luck.
